Energy spectrum rectangular quantum well with staggered profile

The quantum well with the staggered profile (SQW) has the capacity to provide a significant increase in radiation intensity. The staggered profile has been used to increase the number of dimensional quantization levels (DQL) and to decrease the piezoelectric field in the QW. Its thickness increases according to the law of geometric progression, while the depth decreases. A complementary mathematical analysis was also undertaken on SQWs having QUOTE Inx3Ga1-x3N/Inx2Ga1-x2N/Inx1Ga1-x1N/nx2Ga1-x2N/Inx3Ga1-x3N contents. From the calculation of the energy spectrum of the SQW, it can be concluded that changing the top and bottom QWs thickness leads to an increase in the position of the energy levels in the SQW. This work not only provides insights into the staggered profile of QWs but also shows that the creation of such a profile should improve the characteristics of LED sources.
