Specialist corpus for academic writing instruction: compilation and application

Corpus linguistics tools are increasingly employed in teaching English as a second or foreign language. This paper presents the use of a specialist corpus for developing the skills of writing academic texts in the English language. The work describes the compiled corpus and outlines the ways of its application in creating teaching materials and in bolstering practical work. The expertise in using corpus tools along with different online resources allows improving the quality of a written text.
