Estimation of intra-frame compressed image quality for JPEG and JPEG2000 standards

This article discusses the impact made to the image by distortions when using intra-frame compression algorithms based on the discrete cosine transformation and discrete wavelet transformation. The results of image distortion impact estimation were obtained in such parameters as: peak signalto- noise ratio, mean-square error and picture resolution.
