Automated Training System for Modeling Physics Problems

The article describes the automated training system for modeling physics problems which is currently being developed. The aim of the system is to improve and evaluate students' modeling skills. The system consists of 2 modules: the module of training and the module of evaluation. The system is based on methods of automated analysis of text descriptions of physics problems, forming their computer model and generating educational illustrative text materials which are aimed to help students in modeling a physics problem. The system allows to generate texts of physics problems for student's self-made modeling, test questions and problems for evaluating students' modeling skills.
