Evaluating the Effect of Cascade Arrangement on the Characteristics of the Protection Devices Based on 6-Conductor Structure with Modal Decomposition
Статья в сборнике трудов конференции
The cascading arrangement of the conductors has a significant effect on the performance of the protective devices against interference ultra-short pulse (USP) with modal decomposition. This paper presents the results of quasi-static simulations of a protection device based on three configurations of cascade-connected 6-conductor structures with modal decomposition: side by side, where the electromagnetic coupling between conductors at the adjoining cascade sides is negligible; one above the other, where this coupling changes significantly and one after the other, where the coupling remains essentially unchanged. The influence of the spacing between cascades was evaluated for two configuration variants. The results showed that the optimal configuration corresponds to the vertical stacking of cascades (one above the other). In this case, the common-mode attenuation coefficient increased by 5.6% to 50.5, while the differential-mode coefficient increased by 16.7% to 54.5.
